Our Research Published in “Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science”

The research conducted by Jue Shi (PhD student), Shinichi Ikeda (Project Assistant Professor), and Tomokazu Fukuchi (Project Instructor) et al. has been published in Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science.
This study demonstrates, through genetic and pharmacological approaches, that mast cells showing distinct localization in the choroid undergo degranulation in response to myopia-inducing stimuli, leading to choroidal thinning and contributing to the onset of myopia. It marks the first step in our laboratory’s research on choroidal immunology.
